I loved the x-files season 1-7. Season 8 & 9 don't exist in my mind  .

I would love to see these in HD but no mention of a release date yet :x

I have series 8 & 9 on a shelf somewhere, along with the Lone Gunmen. Gotta get around to watching those sometime!

Always enjoyed the early series of X-Files though, mostly the 'monster of the week' shows more than the overall story. It became clear pretty early on Carter had no clue where he was going with that.

Enjoyed Millennium too, but have to admit I still have half of series 2 and the whole of series 3 to watch.

Harsh Realm, got but not watched yet. Is it actually any good?

I love season 1 - 7 too!!! Since Duchovny left the series it just did not feel the same. I thought the chemistry between Mulder and Scully is one of the reasons why the series was so great. The humor and all that... I try to forget 8 and 9 too. Image

I'm a geek I own all 9 seasons but I never got a copy of Fight the Future. Harsh Realm I heard was no good. And I love Monster of the Week episodes. I sometimes skip it when it's about the mytharc and all. It got boring not to mention confusing somewhere in season 5 or 6... right after the first film... Image

I've been a fan since before I can remember, honestly people thought David Duchovny leaving for a while was a big problem but it didn't do too bad, I don't think enough people give it a chance, it carrys on well without him.

I used to watch these every day, used to own the bulky VHS box sets when they first came out, never really ventured onto DVD but would deffinately buy them on blu-ray if they even managed to remaster the first few seasons.

I found there to be just as many good episodes in the last few seasons as there was in the first ones, just in a different format, in my opinion the new X-Files movie that just came out was nothing compared to the last few seasons.

I'm looking forward to a third movie, hopefully they start on that soon, I know they wanted to see how well the second movie did before going ahead with a third.

I am hoping for a third movie too. In my opinion there was no room for the two new characters to establish themselves since the X Files has always been Mulder and Scully. For an avid fan, it's just wrong to have new people in the series take over. But all good things come to an end. There were still good episodes in season 8 and 9. The reason why the show lost its charm is because of what happened in 9/11. Conspiracy theory was too difficult to swallow and the whole atmosphere for paranormal has become a thing of the 90s. I do hope the new movie will finish off the mytharc and explain what is not explained in the series. Just tie it down and give the series a great ending with a good movie. :) Image

Absolutely.

X-Files, LOST and Fringe are now my top 3 TV shows, I feel like Fringe is a good show to replace X-Files now that it's gone, but a movie would still be good to tie up loose ends.

I just got into Alias and I must say how much X Files influenced this TV series as well. I read somewhere JJ Abrams is a huge fan of the X Files and of Chris Carter. I haven't seen much episodes of Fringe but I could tell it's a good series too. I'll go get it when I have time or look for it online. :D Image
