I only wear glasses for driving, and I get headaches. But I don't watch 3D telly when I'm driving. GO FIGURE.

When i went to see Avatar at the Imax i found after about an hour into the movie i had to take the glasses off for about a minute as my eyes were tired, I had to do the same thing again after about the same length of time. I found the 3D effect was good but then after a while i never gave the 3d effect much notice, probably that's what Mr Cameron intended or maybe i was thinking that it was too long a movie and my eyes were glazing over. The story could have been written on the back of a postage stamp.
I realised that i don't want all of the films that i go to the cinema to be in 3D from now on - what's the point. I think the effect will be best suited to blockbuster type movies - maybe some types of Disaster/Science Fiction/Horror films
However I wont be buying a 3d tv as i couldn't be bothered with having to wear glasses all of the time. I mean the news in 3d?

At over a hundred quid a pair for the glasses it would cost a medium sized family a small fortune. For me it's all a bit gimmicky. I prefer to watch normal 2D movies that require a great story and are character driven over films that need the wham bam thank you mam effects with the same old boy meets girl, boy saves the world - or America saves the world storylines.
I do appreciate that these movies can be great fun but i think 3D is the movie industry attempting to get more ways for us to buy, rent and go see more movies..... kerching ;)

Gotta say - After the news Cameron is redoring Titanic and The Abyss in 3D - I'm never going to see those movies... (Well maybe The Abyss) But if every studio is going to bring out 3D versions of their old movies... It's going to get to a point where no new movies are being made as there is no space to show them, what with every screen taken up with U-571, Moulin rouge & The Longest Yard in 3D...

People need to feel their great expense on a 3D telly is an investment in the future... so it'll be the 3D sports and major TV events that bring it to the home screen.

I for one get headaches from watching too much 3D so it'll take a lot for it to make it into my home... Hell I only just splashed out on Blu.

I think it will eventually be the next upgrade and thet'll only happen because of the capacity that Blu-ray offers so I guess Blu is here to stay... and thank god, cause i'm hooked now... it's like crack for the eyes...

A while ago when the price of Blu-rays dropped, I was sceptical - was there something in the pipeline to replace the format? Ok so, same format with an upgrade, I've managed to build up a nifty collection of Blu-rays over the past year or so, am I going to replace these with 3D? MMMmmm, I'm what Marketing Execs call an Early Adopter, see something new, got to have it, not sure I will with 3D. Surely, to get the full effect, I'd have to upgrade my 40" Sony for a 60" or larger, or more likely a 3D capable projector.Might skip 3D in anticipation for holographic sets.

After seeing what a converted 3D movie looks like in "Clash" It really isn't worth it... the only movies that are going to be worth buying in 3D are movies that have been made for and with 3D tech..

I shall not be adopting 3D until TV's get rid of this rubbish use of shutter glasses that is so early 2000's and hurry up with the polarised screens. As far as I know only Hyundai have tried this for TV's so far and it was half the res as they took a 1080p screen and made half one and half the other polarisation. Clearly it's possible to do it full res as my 20" monitor can manage 1080p, so it's easy enough to fit enough pixels on a 40inch screen to show two 1080p pictures at the same time (or even be lazy and alter the polarisation of the screen effectively making the screen act like the shutter glasses). So I'll wait until they get rid of this tech that was out of date years ago and move to the new stuff before I'll get on the bandwagon ;)

T3 Story

PS3 fans can also look forward to a 3D treat as Sony plans to launch four 3D stereoscopic games which come free when you purchase a HX803 3D TV.

The four games in the collection include Wipeout HD, Motorostorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD.

To make your PS3 3D compatible, console owners will need to download a firmware update which will be made available prior to the launch of the HX803 3D TV. A firmware update to make the PS3 3D Blu-ray compatible will launch later in 2010.
