Doomsday Blu-Ray [2008]

Writer/Director Neil Marshall, the Man responsible for Dog Soldiers and the Descent (one of the finest horror movies of recent years in my opinion), brings us his latest offering on Blu-Ray. Darkly Humourous, action packed and gory, Doomsday is about a post-apocalyptic Britain which has seen Scotland Quarantined for over 30 years after after a deadly plague wreaks havoc in the highlands. When word leaks out that there are still survivors behind the wall and with news that there may be a cure for the plague after all these years, a small band of elite agents venture beyond the wall to find a warlike, cannibalistic society has blossomed in the absence of authority.

Starring Rhona Mitra as the leader of the first outsiders to venture into Scotland for 30 years, and supporting cast of Bob Hoskins and Malcolm Macdowell, Doomsday takes its influences from the likes of Escape from New York and Mad Max and is released on Blu-Ray on September 1st 2008.
